lab no. 2: i really like lab reports

i guess this is probably obvious since i decided to name my blog 'my lab notebook', but that also has a different meaning. i just wanted to talk about my love for LaTeX because it's so intuitive and so very easy. i find myself picking it up more than other platforms to writing anything and everything. while its purpose remains close to lab reports and professional documents, still i will randomly open to write, say, an academic essay. i wonder, now, why it isn't boasted about. i guess it's just another thing on top of all the things majors who would need this. but with that said, i do think that it's worth trying out and since i will be going into research, i thought i'd familiarize myself with it this early. good thing i love it and it's easy to use lol but regardless of that i knew i'd be able to find a way to understand it (*ahem* me with physics *ahem). anyways im writing this both to talk about my love for LaTeX and to hopefully influence others to try it. thanks for reading :)

lab no. 1: what do i study in college?

often times, when you think of physics, you don't associate it with biology. in fact, i didn't until i realized that the structural integrity of a building is much like the structural integrity of a living thing. do you remember as a kid how teachers explained to us that proteins, carbs, and nucleic acids are the building blocks of life? how dna is like a blue print? not to be philosophical, but the way these building blocks piece together is entirely physics and no longer a biological perspective. i think discovering physics is the closest thing humans will ever get to understanding the broader universe. moreover, with an inherently better understanding of biology and chemistry than most phycicists, i provide a point of view that is pertinent to understanding life on and off earth. trying to answer questions like what physics contribute to our ability to live on earth and how we can use these to finally deduce to a planet that we can also live on. how will more or less of this and that would affect living things. i like what i study and i believe in it. i like what i study and i will prove to it. it's an incredibly difficult major to complete and yet probably will be the most rewarding thing i will have experienced. i go into this study nourishing both my own desires and questions of the world. thanks for reading :)
